Why Do You Want a Home Business?

Now that you’ve seen the different types of Home Based Businesses out there you’re probably wondering what path to go down. The good news is that you can figure that out reasonably quickly. First though, you need to spend a little time looking inside yourself.

You need to figure out what it is you want from owning your own home based business.

A.K.A

Your WHY?

So today’s lesson is an interactive one. I want you to pull out a blank piece of paper, or open a blank document.

At the top, write, “What is my WHY?”

Now we need to do some brainstorming. I want you to start writing and just let it flow out, even if it seems a little silly, just write it down, we can always cross it off later.

If you are struggling, start by answering some of these questions and see where it takes you.

What is it about what you do right now that makes you happy?
What is it about what you do right now that makes you unhappy?
Is there anything in your life you feel is missing?
Where do you see yourself in 1,5,10 years?
How much do you want to earn?
Where do you want to live?
Do you get to spend enough time with your loved ones?
What makes you want to get out of bed in the morning?
Do you want to give back to and help others?

Now look at everything on the page and see which bits really make your heart sing and try to get them into something more concise that you can have up on your wall or imprinted on your brain.

If you are still looking for some inspiration I’m happy to share my WHY with you. The company I joined actually had me sit down and do this in my first week and it is true today as it was then.

“To enable Myself, My Wife and future kids to have the FREEDOM to choose to do whatever makes us happy and content, be wherever we want to be, without restrictions from lack of time or money.

To lead other people in exploring who they are and to help them discover what truly makes them happy and what they want from life. To enable them to live their lives with the same freedoms that I want.”

This is actually one of the biggest things you need to do before you get involved with any business because if you are clear on this then nothing will ever stop you.
